Investigators find a revolver at Hayrikyan’s case suspect’s
YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. Armenian National Security Service investigating officers found a revolver in the apartment of one of the detainees suspected in assassination attempt on presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, the intelligence structure said.
According to experts, Hayrikyan was shot from such kind of gun.
Hayrikyan was gunned in the shoulder in the center of Yerevan, Tpagrichneri street, where his parents live, around 23:30 on January 31. He was hospitalized where he had a successful surgery. During the Soviet times Hayrikyan was a famous as a dissident, in 1988 he was deprived of the Soviet citizenship.
NSS reported Friday on detaining two suspects, Khachatur Poghosyan and Samvel Harutyunyan.
The intelligence body clarified that the suspects uncovered a number of facts which comply with the collected records fully or partially, experts’ conclusions, confessions and video materials.
NSS continues investigating into the case.
We have objective preconditions for unveiling the crime completely, the intelligence body said.
The investigating bodies pledge to release new updates on the case periodically. -0-
