Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh accuse Azerbaijan of trying to foil planned meeting on Karabakh conflict

YEREVAN, January 20. / ARKA /. Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have denounced today Azerbaijan for a provocation on the line of contact between Armenian troops of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan saying it was an attempt to derail a planned meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Paris over the Karabakh conflict.

A sergeant of the Karabakh armed forces- Armen Hovhannisyan- was killed in a clash between Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops on January 20 overnight on the line of contact.

The subversive act was condemned by foreign ministers of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan and Nagorno-Karabakh Karen Mirzoyan.

According to reports, Azeri commando forces attempted simultaneous attacks in the northeastern (Jraberd) and southeastern (Korgan) directions near Karabakh, however, they were spotted by Nagorno-Karabakh armed forces who inflicted considerable personnel and material losses on the enemy. -0-
