Armenia-Chile cooperation in agriculture and winemaking promising- presidents
YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. The presidents of Armenia and Chile Serzh Sargsyan and Michelle Bachelet said the cooperation between the countries was promising, in agriculture and winemaking in particular, the press office of Armenia’s president reported.
Promotion and development of partnership in education and culture, tourism and sports is important as well, the sides said.
Chile managed to establish economic ties with many countries having signed free trade agreements, and can do the same with Armenia starting with the memorandum of mutual understanding, Bachelet said.
A memorandum of mutual understanding was signed by Armenian and Chilean foreign ministers as part of Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Chile. Business opportunities in Latin American region were presented to Armenian businessmen at the business seminar held in Yerevan a month ago, Sargsyan said at the meeting before the memorandum signing ceremony.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues on strengthening inter-state links and joint efforts to develop cooperation in a number of promising fields.
Sargsyan and Bachelet stressed the importance of the legal framework between the countries to open up new prospects for political, trade and economic cooperation.
Sargsyan was in Chile for an official visit on July 10-12, as part of his Latin American tour. –0—
