Armenia intends to complete preparations for signing EU document in November

YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. Armenia is planning to complete in November preparations for the signing of an EU document, Edward Nalbandian, Armenian foreign minister, said Tuesday after he met with his Estonian counterpart Sven Mikser in Yerevan.

The Estonian foreign minister’s visit to Armenia came just before the beginning of his country’s six-month chairmanship in the European Union.

“Armenia intends to complete over a period of Estonia’s EU chairmanship the preparation of the framework document with the European Union, on which negotiations are already over and the signing is planned for November,” Nalbandian said.

In his words, he discussed with Mikser Armenia-EU relations and cooperation in various areas.
Mikser, on his side, said that Estonia will assume EU chairmanship for the first time.

He said that Estonia has a very ambitious chairmanship agenda – it is planning to produce good results in various areas, one of which is Eastern Partnership.

There are some programs, he said, including a civil society forum and a business forum, which will allow strengthening ties among business communities. --0---
