On Thursday, at its regular session, Armenia's government upheld the signing of an agreement with Serbia to abolish entry visa requirements to people having ordinary passports.
YEREVAN, February 12. /ARKA/. On Thursday, at its regular session, Armenia's government upheld the signing of an agreement with Serbia to abolish entry visa requirements to people having ordinary passports.
«After the signing of the visa regime facilitation agreement with the European Union, the abolition of visa requirements between Armenia and Serbia may become an additional impetus for development of relations between the two countries,» the government says in the justification of its decision. «The agreement is aimed at strengthening economic, humanitarian and cultural ties between the two countries and also at developing tourism.»
Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Serbia were established on January 14, 1993.
On November 11, 2013, the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the visa regime facilitation agreement signed by Armenia and the European Union. The agreement took force in one month after ratification. ---0----
