YEREVAN, April 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan discussed cooperation with US Congress delegation headed by chairman of US House committee on foreign affairs Ed Royce.
Eliot Lance Engel, David Cicilline and Lois Frankel were the other members of the delegation.
The minister welcomed the visit of the US House delegation to Armenia and stressed the importance of consistent efforts to develop Armenian-American partnership, the press office of Armenian foreign ministry reported.
Nalbandyan appreciated the steps taken by the delegation members to acknowledge the 1915 Armenian genocide. US congressmen, in their turn, said the visit was a good opportunity for them to get first hand information about regional problems and said they will continue efforts to develop the cooperation between Armenia and the United States.
The sides emphasized the bilateral relations are currently at a high level and the mutual trust will ensure further expansion of cooperation in various fields.
The minister briefed the guests on Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and approaches to regional and international problems, as well as on the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group in Karabakh peace process. –0--
