Armenian premier threatens officials with dismissal for ineffective implementation of government’s program

YEREVAN, May 8. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, speaking Thursday at a regular Cabinet session, said he will fire those officials implementing the government activity program ineffectively.

He congratulated his colleagues on completion of formation of the new Cabinet and wished them successful activity.

“We are working on the government activity program, which will be submitted to the National Assembly within 20 days for consideration,” he said. “The program must be maximally feasible and the changes implied in it shouldn’t be an end in itself.”

He said he was periodically receiving reports about results of discussions and expressed confidence that the government activity program will be realistic and each member of the government will be responsible for implementation and effectiveness of the new program.

On May 3, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan completed the formation of a new Cabinet by appointing Hovik Abrahamyan, who was the speaker of the National Assembly, to the prime-ministerial post..-0---
