Authorities to carry out sweeping personnel replacement in government agencies
YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. In an interview with Armenia’s Public Television the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan announced the intention of the authorities to carry out a sweeping personnel replacement in all government agencies.
“We did not promise a vendetta (during campaigning for the June 20 snap parliamentary elections), but a personnel replacement, and we will do it. On the whole, the state system must be strong and explicitly serve the political force or forces that win the elections,” he said.
Grigoryan said that after the 2018 Velvet Revolution, some people in many government agencies would torpedo its efficient performance According to him, personnel changes are necessary for the effective management of the system.
“We have the support of the voters and we will accomplish this goal, which is necessary for reforming the entire governance system,” he said, specifying that the personnel replacement will affect those who will not support the reforms.
“It doesn't matter who they chose (in the elections). The problem here is whether they support the government’s reform agenda or not. If they don’t, I think it’s essential that these people resign. Most of the citizens gave us their support to reform the system, and we are determined to implement it. And I can say ‘good-bye to all those who do not share these ideas. There are many areas in our country where they can exploit their skills," Grigoryan said.
According to the official results announced by the Central Election Commission (CEC), Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won almost 53.91 percent of the vote and will retain a two-thirds majority in the Armenian parliament.
Ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s Armenia bloc came in a distant second with 21.09 percent, followed by the opposition Pativ Unem alliance led by another ex-president, Serzh Sargsyan which got 5.22 percent. -0-
