Ethnic Armenian nominated for post of Russian city mayor

YEREVAN, July 29. / ARKA /. Ethnic Armenian Ishkhan Zakaryan  is nominated to run for the post of mayor of Sochi, a Black Sea resort city in southern Russia, by the local branch of Just Russia party, the local newspaper ‘Yerkramas’ reported.

Ishkhan Zakaryan was born in 1977 in Georgia. He now lives in Sochi and is the CEO of Toros Story construction company. 

Other candidates are Alexey Bochkarev from the Liberal Democratic Party, Igor Vasilyev from the Communist Party, Anton Kirichenko from the Patriots of Russia and the current Sochi mayor Anatoly Pakhomov from the United Russia. 

The campaign for the mayoral election in Sochi officially started June 25 and the vote is scheduled for September 14.-0-
