YEREVAN, December 11. / ARKA /. Various sects have begun to actively penetrate Armenian security forces and the army, Alexander Amaryan, head of a center for rehabilitation and assistance to victims of destructive cults, told a news conference today.

He said there are many examples of how members of various sects trying to proselytize in the armed forces. He said he knew eight such cases.

Amaryan said it was strange that the ministry of defense takes no measures to counteract this offensive, because it is well aware of it.

He added that since all sects in Armenia are financed and controlled from abroad, in addition to soul hunting, they could be collecting also secret information about Armenian military.
