Heritage party leader to run for president in Armenia

YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. Leader of “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan decided to run for president in the Armenian elections in 2013, “Novosti-Armenia” Agency reported.

“I am doing this being a citizen of my country and having responsibility for its future,” Hovhannisyan told journalists Friday.
Hovhannisyan urged all Armenians to be active in the elections.

If elections meet democratic standards, a new president or, at least, a serious competitor will be expected, he said.
The leader of Heritage said he will run for president this time but “never more”.

Hovhannisyan promised to provide more comments within the next days.

Heritage is a national-liberal party. It was founded in 2002 by first minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Armenia Raffi Hovhannisyan. The party has 5 deputies in the current parliament. –0--
