Joining the coalition not on the agenda - Prosperous Armenia party
YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. Prosperous Armenia party is not considering joining the ruling coalition, the press secretary of the party and member of parliament Tigran Urikhanyan told ARKA.
Vice-speaker of Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said Sunday the ruling Republican Party of Armenia does not rule out involvement of other political forces, Prosperous Armenia and Dashnaktsutiun in particular, in the new government.
“Prosperous Armenia is not discussing joining the coalition. This issue is not on our agenda”, Urikhanyan said.
He also said Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan and the leader of Prosperous Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan had a meeting Saturday where Tsarukyan said the party is against constitutional reforms in this stage and considers economic reforms as priority.
“There is no constitutional crisis in Armenia, but there is economic crisis instead”, says the statement of the press secretary.
The tycoon-led Prosperous Armenia party was in the ruling coalition in 2007-2012. Dashnaktsutiun, one of the oldest Armenian political parties, left the coalition in 2009, in protest against the signing of Armenia-Turkey protocols.
The previous coalition government formed after the parliamentary elections of 2012 composed of the RPA and Orinats Yerkir party led by the secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan. –0--
