Michel says Azerbaijan's military actions against Karabakh must be stopped: people in Yerevan demand immediate response of authorities
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. European Council President Charles Michel called on Azerbaijan to stop military actions launched against Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Azerbaijan's military actions should be stopped immediately to ensure a real dialog between Baku and Karabakh Armenians," Michel said in a message on X.
Meantime a group of people in Armenian capital Yerevan has gathered in front of the government building in support of Nagorno-Karabakh. They demand an immediate response from the Armenian authorities.
They also demand the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, as well as the refusal of any negotiations with the aggressor.
"Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) people have been living on this land for thousands of years. Now these people are being kicked out of their land, and the so-called authorities of Armenia are crammed into crevices, as if it does not concern them. This must not continue. There is very little time. Every hour means deaths, irreplaceable losses," said Karen Vrtanesyan, coordinator of the specialized military website Razm.info.
According to Nagorno-Karabakh ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan, there are numerous casualties and wounded among the civilian population, including children. He said at least 2 civilians were killed, including one child, and 11 were wounded, including 8 children as a result of Azerbaijan's attacks. -0-
