Nagorno-Karabakh Health Ministry reports five deaths and 80 wounded as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Five people were killed and more than 80 others wounded in a massive attack Azerbaijani troops launched today along the entire line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, the local Health Ministry reported.
It said among the victims of the attack are women, elderly and children. "At the moment there are 80 wounded people in the National Medical Center, fifteen of them are civilians. Unfortunately, 5 people have been killed," the ministry said in a statement.
The Defense Ministry said fighting continued along the entire line of contact. "The Azerbaijani armed forces are using artillery and rockets, attack UAVs," it said.
The Azerbaijani defense ministry said in a statement Tuesday it launched “local anti-terrorist activities” to “suppress large-scale provocations in the Karabakh economic region,” and “to disarm and secure the withdrawal of formations of Armenia’s armed forces from our territories.”
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today Armenia's army was not involved in fighting and the situation on the border was “stable”.
Earlier, the Karabakh side appealed to the Azerbaijani side to immediately stop hostilities and sit down at the negotiating table to settle the situation.-0-
