YEREVAN, October 3. /ARKA/. Secretary of opposition parliament faction of Heritage party Zaruhi Postanjyan will be removed from Armenian parliament delegation to PACE, Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said Thursday.
“Taking into consideration the behavior of deputy Zaruhi Postanjyan at yesterday’s PACE session, and having consulted parliament factions, I intend to make changes to Armenia’s parliament delegation to PACE”, the speaker said.
Abrahamyan said the decision was made based on Armenian constitution article 66 saying parliament deputy may not be pursued or called to account for his or her opinion if it does not contain a slander or an insult.
PACE regulations as well consider offensive statements unacceptable, the speaker said.
Earlier Postanjyan asked Armenian president at the PACE session “who paid 70 million euros he lost in one of the European casinos”. The president refuted the accusation and said he does not gamble.
