Orinats Yerkir to discuss political situation in Armenia on Wednesday April 16
YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. The political council of Orinats Yerkir party will discuss the new political situation in Armenia and its approaches on Wednesday April 16, the press office of the party reported.
On Sunday the ruling Republican party of Armenia (RPA) nominated speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for the premier’s post, to replace Tigran Sargsyan who resigned on April 3. Later in the day, the president Serzh Sargsyan appointed Abrahamyan as premier.
The party council will discuss the current political situation and issues related to Orinats Yerkir’s position, according to the report.
Orinats Yerkir has been in the ruling coalition since 2008. The party holds three ministerial posts in the government and six seats in the parliament.
Vice-speaker of Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said Sunday the ruling Republican Party of Armenia does not rule out involvement of other political forces, Prosperous Armenia and Dashnaktsutiun in particular, in the new government.
According to Armenia’s constitution, the cabinet is formed within twenty days after the premier is appointed. –0--
