YEREVAN, February 18. / ARKA /. The people of Armenia demand that political and civic forces unite to find solutions to the myriads of the country’s problem, the leader of the opposition Heritage Party, Raffi Hovannisyan, told journalists today.
"We need to unite to withstand internal and external challenges, and we must work hard to make the people’s demand come true,’ he said.
On the future actions of the party Hovannisyan said it will fight for the creation of a comprehensive democratic opposition, and then for the formation of new government.
He said Heritage will continue to stand next to the people in their struggle, and stressed that neither the party nor its supporters could be made to deviate from this path.
Raffi Hovannisian was a presidential candidate in February 2013 polls garnering 36.74 % of the vote and losing to incumbent Serzh Sargsyan, who received 58.64 % and was re-elected. Hovanissyan did not recognize the election results. -0-
