YEREVAN, December 3. /ARKA/. Russia’s president Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude to Armenia’s leadership for favorable conditions set for Russian businesses in the country.
Putin also expressed hopes this year the turnover between the countries will exceed the last year level of 1.2 billion drams.
At an extended meeting with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan Putin said the turnover reached almost 1 billion drams in the first nine months.
Putin stressed the Russian Federation remains Armenia’s leading trade and economic partner – both in terms of turnover and investments.
Putin said the joint opportunities will even increase if the plans for Armenia’s accession to Customs Union are implemented. He said he sees no substantial obstacles on the accession way.
Armenia’s Sargsyan, in his turn, pointed out positive turnover trends and stressed the importance of a 25% increase in exports to Russia.
“We will be doing our best to increase the positive results reached over the last years”, Armenia’s president said.
Within short period of time important steps were made to help Armenia participate in building the Eurasian Economic Union, and these steps will enable the sides bringing the relations to a completely new level, Sargsyan said. –0--
