Riga to support Armenia during Latvia’s chairmanship in European Union
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. On Wednesday, Latvian Ambassador to Armenia Elita Gavele (seat in Tbilisi), handing credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, said Riga is ready to cooperate with Yerevan and to assist Armenia, if necessary, in the first half of 2015 - the term of Latvia’s chairmanship in the European Union.
She said that Eastern Partnership Program will be one of Latvia’s top-priority focuses during its EU chairmanship.
The Armenian president congratulated the Latvian ambassador on taking office in Armenia, wished her success in this mission and expressed hope that she will make every effort to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Sargsyan and Gavele discussed prospects for developing cooperation in some areas of mutual interest. ---0----
