Russia bans transit flights by Ukraine air companies to Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey

YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. Russia has banned transit flights over its territory for Ukrainian air companies, to a number of countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey, Russian premier Dmitry Medvedev said at the government meeting on Thursday, as cited by RIA Novosti.

The federal law about special economic measures was passed by Russian Duma, approved by the Federation Council and signed by the president back in December 2006. The law envisages temporary special measures in case of international emergencies to retaliate to illegitimate or unfriendly actions by a foreign state that endanger Russian Federation’s interests and security. –0--
