YEREVAN, November 16. /ARKA/. Two MPs from My Step majority faction in the Armenian National Assembly – Gayane Abrahamyan and Lusine Badalyan – put down their mandates as lawmakers, and their fellow partisan Taguhi Tovmasyan just quit the faction.
Varag Siseryan, the head of the first vice-premier’s staff, announced his resignation.
They did so after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that he was waiting for those guys who have fought on the Artsakh war frontline “to resolve the issue with opponents whining under the walls”.
Gayane Abrahamyan, in her words, has made every effort to mitigate the situation and to avoid the worst.
“But from this moment I consider my activity in the parliament completed,” she wrote on her Facebook page. MP Badalyan made a similar statement, but their fellow partisan Taguhi Tovmasyan said she only quit the faction.
Varag Siseryan submitted his resignation and quit the Civil Contract party.
Earlier it became known about the resignation of adviser to Foreign Minister Ruben Karapetyan, deputy chairman of the State Revenue Committee Mikael Pashayan and a number of other officials.
In recent days, 17 opposition parties staged rallies, demanding Pashinyan's resignation. They say their protests were prompted by the statement signed by Pashinyan with the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan on the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh, which provides for some territorial concessions in favor of Azerbaijan. - 0--
