YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. A symbolic key to Prague has been handed to Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan who is on an official visit in Czech Republic.
Sargsyan said Yerevan and Prague have great potential for cooperation and expressed hopes legal framework will be created for development of ties between the countries, presidential press office reported.
The president said it is an honor for him to get a symbolic key to one of Europe’s oldest cities and an important political, economic and cultural center.
Back in XVII century an Armenian from Damascus Gevorg opened a café in Prague, and the first carpet weaving factor in Prague in the beginning of the 20th century was owned by an ethnic Armenian Artin Aslanyan, the president said. –0--
