Three posts in new Armenian cabinet offered to Orinats Yerkir
YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. Orinats Yerkir party is offered three ministerial posts in the new cabinet at the political consultations with Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan, the deputy head of the party Hovhannes Margaryan reported.
According to mass media allegations, Orinats Yerkir intends to turn into opposition.
Margaryan said in his statement that “there is no problem of maintaining portfolios or not” and the media report does not reflect the actual situation, Novosti-Armenia reported.
Reasons for not joining the coalition could be merely political, Margaryan said. These reasons will be discussed at today’s party council meeting and a decision will be made, he said.
Orinats Yerkir has been in the ruling coalition since 2008 and is holding three ministerial posts in the cabinet and six seats in the parliament.
On Sunday the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) nominated speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for the premier’s post, to replace Tigran Sargsyan who resigned on April 3. Later in the day, the president Serzh Sargsyan appointed Abrahamyan as premier. According to the Constitution, the government is formed within twenty days after the premier is appointed. –0--
