Turkey has no place in Nagorno-Karabakh talks

Turkey has no place in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, deputy chairman of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said today in comments on Ankara’s repeated  desire to become a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, the only international body, mandated to help the sides to the conflict find a peace formula. The current co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are Russia, USA and France.

YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Turkey has no place in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, deputy chairman of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said today in comments on Ankara’s repeated  desire to become a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, the only international body, mandated to help the sides to the conflict find a peace formula. The current co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are Russia, USA and France.

"Turkey is a state, which  directly related to terrorism. It justifies Azerbaijan’s aggression against civilians, including the cruel killing of children and the elderly in Karabakh.  Such a state has absolutely nothing to do in the Karabakh negotiation process," said Sharmazanov.

In the early hours of April 2 Azerbaijani armed forces had used aircraft, tanks and artillery to try to make inroads into Nagorno-Karabakh, but Karabakh defense army has been successfully suppressing the offensive of the enemy. 

According to the latest official data of the Karabakh defense army, in the course of almost 4-day hostilities, Armenian forces of Karabakh  shot down  2 helicopters, destroyed 29 tanks, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, 1 Grad  missile system, heavy flamethrower systems TOS, 6 drones and other hard military  of the Azerbaijani armed forces, killing also more than 300 Azeri soldiers.

The Armenian side has lost seven tanks, 20 soldiers were killed, 72 were wounded  and 26 are missing. -0-
