West attack on Iran may have deplorable consequences on Armenia, expert says

YEREVAN, February 25. /ARKA/. US and allies’ military operation in Iran will have deplorable consequences on the region in general and on Armenia in particular, deputy dean of Eastern studies department of Yerevan State University Vardan Voskanyan said during a video bridge on “Iranian factor in the context of regional security”.

Even now international sanctions on Iran affect the Armenian economy indirectly, Voskanyan said.

The expert also said that Armenia is interested in a peaceful solution to the Iranian problem, but cannot influence the West-East negotiations directly.

Iran is suspected by the US, a number of other Western countries and Israel over development of nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear energy program. 

UN Security Council passed resolutions against Iran and demands the country to ensure full transparency of its nuclear program and prove it serves peaceful purposes. –0--
