499 children of South Caucasus Railway employees complete their rest in Gugarq camp
YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Some 499 children have spent their summer holidays in Gugarq camp which is under the patronage of South Caucasus Railway, the press office of the company reported today.
Last year 374 children had their rest in the camp.
“This year SCR took over the organization not only the Company’s children’s recreation but also those of the 6th and the winners of the competition for the best essay on the work of the great Armenian poet and writer Hovhannes Tumanyan,” the press release says. “In the camp numerous of cultural and recreational, sporting events were organized for children, and in the framework of the agreement with the representation of Russian Cooperation in Armenia a summer school for Russian language opened after Pushkin.”
The staff of SCR was also taken into attention. In "Iagora" rest zone on the shores of Lake Sevan 432 people has rested, and by the end of the season this figure is expected to reach 450.
“South Caucasus Railway as a socially responsible company that pays particular attention to the organization of leisure of its employees and their family members conducts such programs every year and intends to continue this practice in the future,” the press release says. “Complete rest is especially important for the railroad workers who are responsible for lives and safety of passengers.”
South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway.
Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. ---0----
