YEREVAN, March 18. / ARKA /. About 4000 women in the Armenian capital city have had free medical examinations which are usually paid as part of a spring campaign announced for females from March 8 to April 7, the Yerevan municipality said.
The campaign is backed by the Yerevan municipality and the health ministry, and is dedicated to the women's month that runs from March 8 which is marked as International Women's Day and April 7, which is marked in Armenia as Motherhood and Beauty Day.
In this time span the women may apply to their policlinics and in case of need have free services in the city hospitals.
"Last week, some 3,800 women applied to medical institutions subordinated to the municipality and after passing examination 371 of them were given special certificates for free surgeries which are usually paid and 71 women have been already operated on," the municipality said.
The list of free services offered as part of the campaign, does not include complicated and expensive examinations, including hormonal analysis and NMR examination and heart surgery. -0-
