YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. Armenia's Health Minister Arsen Torosyan told a news conference today that the country has received test kits to diagnose coronavirus from WHO and Russia. 'Today, we have  one thousand test kits,  some of which have already been used,' he said.

He said the country is set to receive 2 thousand more test kits from the Netherlands and another one thousand from the USA, 'but in any case we will also acquire, most likely, Chinese and English test kits.”

According to the minister, the place of production of the test kits is “really not important”, the main thing is that they correspond to the equipment available in Armenia, “which is very good”.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported earlier today the country’s first confirmed case of a coronavirus infection, saying the government was taking a set of precautionary measures to thwart the spread of the infection.

Pashinyan said in a Facebook posting that the man, who tested positive for the infection is 28 years old had arrived on February 28 from the neighboring Iran by plane and later went to the hospital for treatment. According to Pashinyan, the man is in good condition.

Thirty-two Armenian citizens suspected to be infected with coronavirus have been quarantined at the Golden Palace hotel located in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan told a news conference today. -0-
