Armenia's confirmed cases of coronavirus have grown by another 188 over the past 24 hours bringing the total to 44,649, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. Armenia's confirmed cases of coronavirus have grown by another 188 over the past 24 hours bringing the total to 44,649, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
It said four people have died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. Overall, 215,810 people have tested for coronavirus, according to the center. In total, 895 people have died from the infection, 39, 823 patients have recovered, and 3,656 patients are still being treated for it.
Regarding the latest deaths, the Ministry of Health reported that an 84-year-old woman and three men (69, 70, 83 years old) had died. All had concomitant chronic diseases.
Three other people with coronavirus have died too, but their death cause was different. Over the past day, 566 patients have recovered.
The state of emergency in order to suppress the spread of the coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020, and then it was extended five times for a month each time. The latest extension ends on September 11.
Restrictions on free movement and some types of economic activity introduced on March 24 were removed on May 4. On May 18, public transport, gyms, kindergartens and catering facilities were allowed to resume and starting from August 12, foreigners are allowed to enter the country. The government also allowed holding meetings and rallies, but wearing face coverings in public places and observing social distance remain mandatory. -0-
