Armenia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 43,451

As of 11:00 on Friday, August 28, there were 37,264 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report.

YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Friday, August 28, there were 37,264 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report. 

In total, there are 43,451 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases and 869 deaths in the country. This means that 181 new infection cases, 5 deaths and 276 recovery cases have been recorded since yesterday’s report.

The five people who died yesterday were four women aged 53, 55, 65 and 72 and a 65-year-old man. 
According to the report, 202,253 people have been tasted for the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic. As many as 5,052 patients are being treated now.  

A state of emergency was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020 in order to suppress the spread of 
COVID-19, and then it was extended five times. Thus, according to the government's decision of August 12, the state of emergency is in effect in Armenia until 17:00 on September 11.

At the same time, restrictions on free movement and some types of economic activity introduced from March 24 were lifted on May 4, and, public transport, gyms, kindergartens and catering facilities resumed operating from May 18. From August 12, foreigners’ entry to the country was allowed. Holding meetings and rallies was allowed as well, but with wearing masks and observing social distance. -0--
