Armenia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 45,503

As of 11:00 on Friday, September 11, there were 41,434 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report.

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Friday, September 11, there were 41,434 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report. 

In total, there are 45,503 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases and 909 deaths in the country. This means that 177 new infection cases, 3 deaths and 201 recovery cases have been recorded since yesterday’s report.

The three patients who died yesterday were two women aged 57 and 63 and a 59-year-old man. They had chronic diseases. 

According to the report, 231,259 people have been tested for the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic. As many as 2,880 patients are being treated now.  

A state of emergency was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020 in order to suppress the spread of COVID-19, and then it was extended five times. Thus, according to the government's decision of August 12, the state of emergency is in effect in Armenia until 17:00 on September 11.

At the same time, restrictions on free movement and some types of economic activity introduced from March 24 were lifted on May 4, and, public transport, gyms, kindergartens and catering facilities resumed operating from May 18. From August 12, foreigners’ entry to the country was allowed. Holding meetings and rallies was allowed as well, but with wearing masks and observing social distance. -0-
