Armenia's death toll from Covid-19 reaches 3,243

Armenian health officials have recorded 818 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours (the highest growth since December 12, 2020), saying the total number of confirmed cases rose to 177,104 as of Friday morning.

YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Armenian health officials have recorded 818 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours (the highest growth since December 12, 2020), saying the total number of confirmed cases rose to 177,104 as of Friday morning. 

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, four persons have died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of such deaths to 3,243.

Some 277 patients have recovered. Overall, 3,934 people have tested for the infection in the last 24 hours, it said. One person with confirmed coronavirus has died during that time span from other diseases. The number of such deaths is now 835.

In total, 765,879 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of 3 million since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected. Since then 165,718 patients have recovered, and 6,208 patients are being treated currently at hospitals and at their homes.

On January 11, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine for another six months until July 11, 2021.

The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency that was declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus. 0-
