Armenia’s manufacturers ought to provide every toy with label in Armenian language

YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's government approved today technical rules obliging manufacturers to provide every toy with a label, instructions and warning in Armenian language.

Economy Minister Vahram Avanesyan said that every manufacturer entering the toy market ought to have appropriate papers – an expert study protocol or a conformity certificate.

If some risks emerge, the manufacturer must record consumers' complaints and inform suppliers about results of own monitoring in retail network.

The technical rules require identification data on every toy or its packing – the number of the batch, series or models and the name of manufacturer with address and contacts. Instructions should contain information about safety of its usage.

Toys must not pose any threat to kids – such as suffocation or mechanical injuries. Toys for kids under 3 must not be made of natural leather or pelage as well as glass, porcelain and paper.

The rules don't apply to a number of sports goods – roller skates, skateboards and bicycles as well as collectors’ models. --0----
