Armenia to start exporting honey to Europe next year

Armenia is expected to start exporting its honey to European countries the next year, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today as met with members of the board of the National Association of Farmers, which is headed by Roza Tsarukyan, the government’s press office reports.

Armenia is expected to start exporting its honey to European countries the next year, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today as met with members of the board of the National Association of Farmers, which is headed by Roza Tsarukyan, the government’s press office reports.
He said that necessary preparations are already coming to completion.
Tsarukyan, on her side, described the steps taken by the Association for developing apiculture.
She thanked the government for the attention paid to bee farming and stressed the importance of exporting high-quality honey.
Tsarukyan also expressed hope that the honey export will spur bee breeding in the country.
Issues related to other segments of agriculture were discussed at the meeting as well.
Bee output in Armenia shrank ten times in 2012 to some 100 tons. ---0---
