YEREVAN, June 18./ARKA/. Armenia’s State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition fined Tuesday some three companies for they have demonstrated an unfair competition.
These companies, Nout.am, IT Master (both of them sell computers) and Domino Production (video and audio recording), will be brought to financial responsibility and will be subject to paying the fine at 1% of their annual profit.

According to Artak Shaboyan, head of the Commission, said Nout.am and IT Master used to advertise the services which they, in fact, didn’t have and offer. For instance, the poster at the entrance to Nout.am store said the appliances and equipment can be bought in installments at 0% prepayment. However, the regulator revealed the poster announcement was at odds with the reality
IT Master had the analogical violations.

“The Commission assesses such things as unfair competition,” Shaboyan said and added that the companies are obliged to regulate their activities and eliminate all the violations.

Domino Production company was also revealed to act unfairly. A former co-founder of Domino Video Production submitted a complaint to the commission stating the company went bankrupt in February 2013, however, another co-founder registered a new company, Domino Production, a month later.

The Commission concluded the unfair competitor had appropriated all the works and prizes of Domino Video Production, and, in fact, used the brand of the previous company.

“The fined company is obliged to eliminate all the violations within a week,” Shaboyan said.

The Commission has also delivered  warnings to the other three companies who had pleaded guilty.

Crown Chemical provider of chemical materials requested the Commission to probe the products which are sold under Crown Gold brand but their labels almost don’t differ from  Crown Chemical ones. It was later revealed that the former workers of Crown Chemical had founded a new company but used the trademark of Crown Chemical. The violators pleaded guilty, and the commission issued a strict warning against them.

The Commission also received complaints from Bari Samaratsi food producing company and Proshyan Brandy Plant.

Thus, Erzrum was using the trademark of Bari Samaratsi for one of its sausage products. Bari Samaratsi trademark has a patent and can’t be used by another company. Thus, the Commission assessed Erzrum’s actions as a violation.

Proshyan Brandy Plant complained that some brandy under Berdadzor brand was being sold in some souvenir bottles which were  analogical to those patented by the plant.

The violator pleaded guilty and is now obliged to work fairly. The commission issued a strict warning against it as well.—0-
