Armenian government allocated around 857 million drams to farmers of hail-stricken villages in Armavir region as compensation for the land tax and irrigation at its meeting Thursday.
YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. Armenian government allocated around 857 million drams to farmers of hail-stricken villages in Armavir region as compensation for the land tax and irrigation at its meeting Thursday.
The deputy minister of territorial administration Vache Terteryan said 207 million drams are earmarked for the land tax alone.
The funds will be transferred to the administration of Armavir and farmers will be notified that their tax is paid, the deputy minister said.
The prime-minister, in his turn, said he visited Armavir region Wednesday and saw the administration has already posted the lists of socially insecure farmers needing government support.
“If anyone sees inaccuracies in the lists he may apply to the government and the issue will be considered”, the premier said.
Hail damaged crops on about 17,000 hectares in Armenia on May 12. The government program adopted on May 23 envisages a number of measures to repair the harm, including individual approach to farm loan servicing, land tax and irrigation fee benefits, new anti-hail installations. ($1=416.02drams). -0-
