Armenian minister: deterrent mechanisms needed in price-making process to make important medicines affordable

YEREVAN, May 21. /ARKA/.  A new draft law on drags will imply deterrent mechanisms in price-making process to make important medicines affordable, Armenian Health Minister Armen Muradyan said Wednesday at a Q&A session in the National Assembly.

«The current law on drugs is one of the few laws which had not been reconsidered for several years, but there is a group of very important drugs which should be affordable especially to socially vulnerable groups,» he said.

At the same time, the minister stressed that it should be done whatever necessary to avoid collision of interests that may affect the development of this market.

In his words, the development of the new law will take certain time - it will be sent to the National Assembly for approval within a few months and the worked out mechanisms will take force immediately after the bill passage..-0-----
