Armenian philanthropists' alley opens in Yerevan

YEREVAN, October 22. /ARKA/. An alley of Armenian philanthropists was introduced in the Oval Park of Yerevan Saturday, the press service of the Municipality reported.

Monuments to prominent Armenian philanthropists, Poghos Nubar, Alexander Mantashyan, Alek Manukyan, Galust Giulbenkyan, Mikael Aramyants, Hovhannes Lazaryan (Ivan Lazarev), are erected in the park designed by sculptor Ferdinand Arakelyan. 
A sculpture symbolizing charity is put up in the center of the alley.

Among participants of the official opening ceremony were the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Markaryan, Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, the head of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Perch Sedrakyan and other high-rank officials and residents of Yerevan.
The head of AGBU expressed gratitude for having opened such an alley in the heart of Yerevan. The attention paid by the homeland is very important for the Diaspora. -0-
