YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Tuesday in his address to the country’s population that in order to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, new restrictions have been set for economic activities and movement of citizens. "At the moment, there are cases of coronavirus infection in Yerevan, Armavir, Ararat, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Syunik, Shirak and Lori provices," Pashinyan said.

In his words, the sources of most cases of infection are known. “There were three chains of the spread of coronavirus, which began from citizens from Iran, citizens from Echmiadzin and a factory in Yerevan,” he said. “We have managed to stop the chain associated with Iran and Echmiadzin, however, it is possible that the case at the factory in Yerevan has taken uncontrolled development, as cases were recorded at other plants in Yerevan and Charentsavan."

Because of this, the premier announced the introduction of more stringent restrictions:

- the work of thousands of enterprises will be ceased, only companies whose activities are vital are allowed to work;

-  movement of citizens prompted by only vital necessity will be allowed;

- when going outdoor you must have a passport or ID-card;

- exits to the street must be reasoned by vital circumstances;

-  the commandant’s office will establish the necessary special permit form for the movement of citizens;

- gather in groups of no more than two people, including in yards and arbors;

- all restaurants and cafes will cease operating at least for one week;

- shops, pharmacies and banks will continue working;

- from 10:00 to 12:00, all stores, pharmacies and banks will serve only citizens over 65;

- when you are at home, you must follow the rules of hygiene and follow the calls of the ministry of health

According to the latest report, there are 249 confirmed cases of infection with COVID-19 in Armenia.
The first case of coronavirus infection in Armenia was confirmed on March 1. That patient has already recovered. Among those infected are Armenian citizens from Iran and Italy (residents of Yerevan, Echmiadzin, Meghri and Charentsavan), people in contact with them, as well as one Italian citizen and a visitor from France.

The Armenian government has declared a state of emergency in the country from March 16 to April 14 in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. -0---
