YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. The 8th, 9th and 10th programs to overcome the adverse consequences of COVID 19 is planned to be launched on April 13, Armenian Vice-Premier Mher Grigoryan said Thursday at a press conference.
In his words, as of April 9, the total amount of the six anti-crisis programs of the Armenian government to resist the coronavirus is 3.67 billion drams.
"We consider this a good result. We hope that the implementation process will have a quick impact on the government’s new initiative to support small businesses, registered as private entrepreneurs," he said at the Single Information Center.
The Armenian government will provide state support to microbusiness under the 10th project to neutralize the adverse economic consequences of coronavirus. The beneficiaries of the program are individuals who, after January 1, 2020, are micro-business entities.
Grigoryan said manuals on anti-crisis programs, in particular on the 7th, 8th and 9th programs, are being intensively developed.
He noted that the government is attentive to the impetuses received from the business, which are being analyzed.
"We will try to use these proposals in our programs, we will adjust the events, especially if for various reasons all possible participants have not been included," he said.
Grigoryan also stressed that the economic block of programs is designed not only to overcome the crisis, but also for the future and development of the private sector.
About Programs
The government of Armenia, in general, has approved nine programs to cushion the adverse economic impacts of coronavirus. On March 26, five aid packages in various areas were approved, on March 30 - three more assistance programs and on April 2 - also one program. Of the nine programs, five relate to economic assistance to business and the agricultural sector, and four relate to the provision of social support to various groups of the population.
In particular, under the seventh program, financial support will be given to employees who were laid off due to the coronavirus-prompted restrictions. Beneficiaries will be those citizens who were in labor relations on the basis of contracts or decisions on hiring from January 1 to March 13, 2020 or were re-hired on the condition that the transition to a new job did not exceed three business days, but were released from work from March 13 to March 30, 2020.
Those citizens whose salary in the preceding 2 months dismissal exceeded 500 thousand drams, as well as those who were in labor relations before March 30 with another employer or with the same, but on the basis of a different contract are not eligible to enjoy this support.
The eighth program includes the largest number of beneficiaries - their number exceeds 100 thousand. Beneficiaries can only be persons who are officially registered employees of private enterprises in such areas as hotels and hostels, catering, tourism, hairdressing and beauty salons, as well as retail trade services.
The goal of the ninth program is to cushion the social problems of families with children under 18 due to coronavirus. The beneficiaries of the program will be all those families in which there are children under 18 years and one of several conditions is met. This is a lump-sum assistance of 26.5 thousand drams (about $ 52.4) for each child. Support is provided to one of the parents.
There are 921 confirmed cases of infection with the coronavirus in Armenia as of April 9. There are 138 cured patients and ten deaths in the country. -0---
