Average nominal salary in Armenia AMD 161, 036 in May 2014

YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. An average nominal salary in Armenia was AMD 161, 036 in May 2014 – 0.4% lower than in April, according to the National Statistical Service’s preliminary reports.  

The average salary in April 2014 was AMD 161,632 - 0.3% higher than in March 2014 and 6.1% higher than in April 2013. 

Syunik province was singled out for the higher average salary in April 2014 – about AMD 200,150 and Aragatsotn province for the lowest salary – AMD 111,900. Yerevan’s average nominal salary was AMD 174,900 in April 2014.

Finance and insurance sectors’ employees had highest salaries in April 2014 –their average salary amounted to AMD 389,000.

Mining industry workers’ average salary was AMD 332,800 and information and communication sector’s employees’ average salary was AMD 315,100 in April 2014. 

The lowest-paid people were those working in culture and leisure areas. Their average salary was about AMD 88,400 in April 2014. 

Agriculture, forestry and fishery segments’ workers had an AMD 104,100 drams average salary and education sector’s employees AMD 104,400. ($1 – AMD 407.99). -0----
