Corruption reduced, but not eradicated in Armenia’s education, minister says

YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA/. Corruption is reduced, but not completely removed from educational field in Armenia, Armenian minister of science and education Armen Ashotyan told a press conference Saturday in summarizing yearly results.

Tangible results are recorded in the fight against corruption, the minister said.

According to Ashotyan, entrance examinations that were most corruption-prone area before, were held in a most impartial manner this year. Corruption risks have been also reduced in the state exam system, he added.

The minister stressed that collecting money in schools has also considerably reduced: less and less complaints are received about such cases.

The minister added that the decision about inadmissibility of any fee collection in schools is final and is not subject to change. –0--
