YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Dmitry Khvorostovsky, a globally known baritone, will sing on September 29 in Yerevan’s Aram Khachaturyan Hall with the Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Konstantin Orbelyan, Novosti-Armenia reports referring to Sona Hovhannisyan, the manager of the 14th Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival.
Hovhannisyan was also quoted by the news agency as saying that Khvorostovsky has already performed in Armenia ten years ago, but this is the first time he will sing in Armenia after gaining global fame.
Prices for tickets range from AMD 5,000 ($12) to AMD 50,000 ($122).
The 14th Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival started on April 11 in Yerevan with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert. The festival, which will last until November, will also host the Shanghai Quartet and other prominent musicians. It will be closed with a concert of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy. The festival is organized under Armenian President Serzh Saregsyan’s patronage. --0--
