Drinking water tariffs to remain unchanged – Armenian WSC

YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. Tariffs for drinking water will not change in Armenia’s regions in 2014, general director of Armenian Water and Sewerage Company Patrick Lorain said.

The company has not applied to the regulator for a tariff increase, he told a press conference Friday.

The current tariff is 179.78 drams (about 0.43 dollars) per cubic meter. It was set back in 2009 and needs to be revised, the general director said.

The company’s general expenditures have increased over the last years, and it may be difficult to ensure efficient operations if the tariff remains unchanged, Lorain said.

Armenian Water and Sewerage Company is operated by French SAUR S.A. The company’s service area includes 37 towns and 268 villages. –0--
