Edward Militonyan elected as head of Armenian Union of Writers
YEREVAN, October 21. /ARKA/. Poet and prose writer Edward Militonyan has been elected as head of Union of Writers of Armenia, A1plus.am reports referring to the counting commission.
There were three other candidates in the election – Hovik Hoveyan, David Sargsyan and Romik Sardaryan who have already congratulated Militonyan on the election.
The post of the head of Armenian writers was vacant since September 2 after the death of former head Levon Ananyan, according to the report.
Edward Militonyan is director of the center for books and publishing of Armenia’s ministry of culture. He was born in 1952. Militonyan graduated from the Yerevan State University. He authored about 30 collections and received numerous awards, including Maxim Gorky award. –0--
