Eurovision odds: Armenia replaced by Sweden as favorite
YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. World bookmakers are now less convinced of the victory of Armenia’s Aram MP3 in Eurovision Song Contest 2014, he is still on the favorites’ list though, Novosti-Armenia reported.
Aram with his song ‘Not Alone” was considered the clear favorite of the contest before the first semi-finale.
According to Williamhill, Aram’s odds to win are 3.25, while Swedish Sanna Nilsen is in the first with her song “Undo” and Molly from the UK with “Children of the Universe” is the third.
Odds from “Bwin” suggest Sweden is the first (2.85) and Armenia the second (4.50).
Odds from Armenian bookmakers give preference to the Swedish singer (2.85), yet consider Aram’s chances to win to be high (3.50).
Armenia’s Aram MP3 (Aram Sahakyan) qualified for the final at the first semi-finale of the Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Not Alone” in Copenhagen on Tuesday. The other finalists are Montenegro, Hungary, Russia, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Ukraine, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Iceland.
Another set of ten finalists will be selected on May 8. The final round of the competition will take place Saturday, May 10, where one winner will be chosen based on a mixture of popular voting and judges’ decision.
Armenia has been taking part in Eurovision since 2006. Armenia’s best result came in 2008 when Sirusho placed fourth. –0—
