YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Armenian consumers receive inferior natural gas, despite the increase in gas prices in July 2013, Babken Pipoyan, chairman of the Well-Informed and Protected Consumer NGO, said Friday at a news conference.
“In December 2012, an average-sized family with a baby spent about 220 cubic meters of gas to heat its home, while this winter even consumption of 230 to 250 cubic meters ensures no proper temperature in an apartment,” he said.
Pipoyan also pointed out fast contamination of gas boilers' filters as another piece of evidence showing low quality of the natural gas supplied to consumers in Armenia.
He also stressed that not a single consumer could say that this gas was blue.
«We intend to monitor this area, but we have no proper equipment and resources to do it,» he said. «We are going to acquire necessary equipment and to conduct a study with involvement of concerned persons and organizations in it. In the event of failure, we will seek the government’s answer to this question.». -0---
