YEREVAN, October 24. / ARKA /. The fifth Russia-Armenia EXPO 2012 is a good platform for establishing mutually beneficial relationships, emergence of new ideas and implementation of programs, as well as for ensuring competition and cooperation, the chairman of the Armenian National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan said at the opening of the event.
"Russia was and is one of the largest trade partners of Armenia. I am sure that the fifth Russian-Armenian industrial exhibition will become a platform to showcase Armenian and Russian economic opportunities, " Abrahamyan said.
Russian ambassador to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, said the event will give a new impetus to the development of inter-regional relations between the two countries.
"The exhibition aims to give impetus to and expand regional ties between our countries, it is intended to establish new forms of innovative and mutually beneficial cooperation", Kovalenko said.
This year more than one hundred industrial enterprises from 35 regions of Russia and Armenia will showcase their achievements.
The event is being held under the official patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the State Duma (parliament’s low chamber), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and several ministries of Russia, as well as the government, the National Assembly of Armenia, the Trade Representation of Russia in Armenia and Armenian trade representation in Russian and the business communities of both countries. -0-
