Taron Avia Air Company will service flights from this Russian city to Gyumri and back, Armenia’s second biggest city.
According to the report posted on the airport’s website, flights will be operated once a week, on Wednesdays, and from May 31 twice a week – also on Saturdays.
The flight duration is 1 hour 20 minutes.
Passengers will be carried by Boeing 737-500. Booking is already available on the air company’s website.
“Rostov region and Armenia are tied with strong trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural relations and the opening of another flight to this country will make them stronger,” said Sergey Dotsenko, development director of the Airports of Regions Holding.
Besides, he said, more than 300,000 Armenians live in Rostov-on-Don. “This is one of the largest Armenian communities in Russia, and therefore there are grounds for thinking that the flight to Gyumri will be demanded by them,” Dotsenko is quoted in the report.
Rostov-on-Don is also connected with Armenia by Ural Airline’s everyday flights to Yerevan .
