Food products prices rise 17.1% year-on-year in Armenia

In late June 2022 prices for foods and non-alcoholic beverages in Armenia were up 17.1% from June 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. In late June 2022 prices for foods and non-alcoholic beverages in Armenia were up 17.1% from June 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

According to it, prices for flour, bread and pasta rose by 17.7%, 20% and 29.9%, respectively. Prices for rice and buckwheat rose by 14.6% and 34.2% respectively. Prices for lamb, pork and beef rose by 7.1%, 8.2% and 17.8%, respectively. Fish and seafood prices rose 11.8%.

Prices for cheese rose 25.4% while prices for eggs fell 24%. Oils and fats went up in price by 5.1%. Fruit went up in price by 16.2%, vegetables by 45.8%, but they were down 16.9% from May 2022.

Prices for sugar, fruit puree, honey, syrups, chocolate and sugar biscuits increased by 7%. Prices for coffee, tea and cocoa rose by 11.9%. Prices for mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water rose by 8%.

Prices for vodka went up by 9%, wine - by 1.2%, beer - by 8.4% and tobacco - by 10.3%. -0-
